The next day, Yan Zhen and Ying Shu went to the beach. Qin Chu couldn't make it because of concert preparations, so the two sisters spent the whole day playing in the sand. Yan Zhen took tons of photos and that evening, curled up on the hotel sofa, she carefully selected a few to post on her social media.
After posting, she admired her beauty and figure, watching the likes and complimentary comments quickly accumulate, feeling incredibly pleased. Suddenly, a familiar avatar popped up in her notifications, a minimalist, almost aloof style. Chen Huaixu had liked her post.
She sat up quickly and messaged him, [You're actually on social media?]
[Occasionally,] he replied. Then he asked, [What are you wearing under the shirt?]
Yan Zhen bit her lip.
[It's the beach. A bikini, of course.]
She hadn't posted anything that revealing, though. The photos she chose were of her back, in a white shirt that barely covered her legs. The damp fabric clung to her, subtly outlining her slender waist, her long, pale legs bathed in sunlight, looking as if they'd been drizzled with honey.
[Hmm,] Chen Huaixu replied.
Seeing his indifferent response and the ensuing silence, Yan Zhen couldn't help but ask, [What are you doing?]
[Making plans for a beach trip,] he answered.
Yan Zhen was speechless.
A little while later, feeling playful, she mimicked the tone of online scams, inviting Chen Huaixu to transfer her some money, promising to unlock photos of herself without the shirt for a fee.
Unexpectedly, he actually transferred the money. The amount was startling, with an extra zero compared to what she'd jokingly requested.
Yan Zhen happily pocketed the money, having no intention of sending any photos. Instead, she feigned disapproval.
[Chen Huaixu! You're so easily tempted. Be careful, your competitors might bankrupt you with a honey trap!]
He replied leisurely, [It's alright. He Xia's business and Yan Corp aren't competitors at the moment.]
Then, another message, [Baby, come downstairs.]
Yan Zhen was confused.
[I'm downstairs at your hotel,] he clarified.
Her heart leaped. She quickly changed and took the elevator down. From a distance, she saw a tall, long-legged man leaning against a pillar in the hotel lobby. He wore a simple shirt and trousers, but his striking features and aura drew glances from passersby.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, walking up to him.
Chen Huaixu pocketed his phone and looked down at her, a playful glint in his eyes. "Someone took my money and won't send me pictures. I'm here to collect my debt."
Her ears burned. She turned her head and huffed, "There are no pictures. Don't even think about it."
"I figured," he said, taking her hand, his fingers intertwining with hers. "So, to settle the debt, Miss Yan Zhen, will you accompany me for a walk tonight?"
As he led her outside, she quickly added, "I have an early flight tomorrow. We can't stay out too late, or I won't be able to wake up."
"Alright," he said, glancing at his watch. "I'll have you back by midnight."
Z City's nightlife was vibrant. Colorful neon lights blinked, painting the dark night sky with a dazzling array of hues. The streets bustled with people and traffic, the salty sea breeze mingling with the air, invigorating and refreshing.
