Once upon a time, there was a donkey. It served as a woman's mount. The first time it bucked her off, the woman simply counted to one and didn't punish it. The second time it threw her to the ground, the woman counted to two, still no punishment. The donkey, feeling completely safe, bucked her off a third time. This time, the woman took out a gun and shot it.

Tao Yu had heard this story as a joke. However, after entering the big boss's mindscape, she couldn't find it funny anymore. Like the donkey in the story, she constantly reminded herself not to become the one under the gun.

Unfortunately, no plan is foolproof. Despite her caution, she couldn't help but have occasional lapses in judgment. To this day, she still doesn't understand what she was thinking when she bit Yue Linze.

After the items on the office desk were swept to the floor, she was pushed onto it. When Yue Linze bit her collarbone, she hazily thought, If only I had brought candy today…

Rain suddenly started pouring outside. In the corner between buildings, a small green sprout swayed in the downpour. Raindrops landed on its leaves, swirling before gradually seeping into its core.

As the rain continued, the wind picked up. The small sprout weakly endured the onslaught, occasionally lifting its leaves in defiance, only to be quickly suppressed by the wind and rain.

The rain varied in intensity, but it showed no sign of stopping. The ground was soaked, and puddles formed everywhere.

After an unknown period, the rain finally ceased, and the sun slowly emerged from the clouds.

Tao Yu wore one of Yue Linze's shirts. What fit him perfectly became a nightgown on her. Barelegged, she leaned against the sofa, exhaustion etched on her face, yet her eyes shimmered with a faint watery light. Her cheeks were flushed, and her expression held a touch of allure absent before.

She languidly watched Yue Linze tidy up the desk. After a while, she reminded him, "The bloodstains on the carpet, please clean them up." Earlier, because she found the desk too hard, Yue Linze had, in a fit of passion, dragged her onto the carpet, resulting in difficult-to-clean stains.

Yue Linze paused at her words, his gaze shifting to the bloodstains on the floor. His eyes darkened again. He silently assessed Tao Yu, confirming her exhaustion had reached its limit, and suppressed the fire within him.

Tao Yu was holding her breath. She hadn't expected Yue Linze to take her right there and then, just because of her one provocation. Thinking back to their intimate moments, Tao Yu felt a wave of dizziness.

She had actually slept with her patient. Although strictly speaking, this alternate personality wasn't a complete person, and the primary personality wouldn't have these memories, she had still violated her professional ethics.

"What are you thinking about?" Yue Linze had appeared before her without her noticing.

Tao Yu looked up at him. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be cleaning the carpet?" Thanks to their passionate encounter, Yue Linze had removed the handcuffs from their wrists midway, finding them inconvenient during a change of position.

"I'll get my assistant." Yue Linze said indifferently.

Tao Yu's eyes widened in shock. "You want them to deal with this? No way!" Where was his bottom line? Didn't he feel any shame?

Her face, whether from tension or lingering arovsal, was as vibrant as a peach blossom, captivating at a single glance.

Yue Linze glanced at her and curled his lips. "Don't worry, I won't let them in." She was his, and no one was allowed to look at her.

Tao Yu, unaware that Yue Linze's possessiveness had reached the point where everyone, regardless of gender, was considered a rival, felt slightly relieved. "Then what are you going out for?"

"To get something. I'll be right back." Yue Linze finished, pressed a kiss on her forehead, and left.

She involuntarily touched the spot where he had kissed her, feeling the skin on her forehead burning where his lips had been.

True to his word, Yue Linze returned quickly, the entire trip taking less than a minute.

Tao Yu found it amusing. "What did you go out for?" Had he just gone out for a breath of fresh air?

"This." Yue Linze raised the scissors in his hand.

Tao Yu was puzzled. "What are you doing with scissors?"

Yue Linze glanced at her, walked silently to the bloodstain, squatted down, and used the scissors to cut out the stained portion of the carpet.

Tao Yu watched, her lips twitching. "Even if you don't want to clean it, you don't have to be so extreme…"

The carpet wasn't cheap. Cutting out a piece like this probably meant replacing the entire carpet in the room. Although she knew this world was virtual, Tao Yu genuinely felt a pang of sadness for the wasted money.

Yue Linze didn't speak. He carefully folded the cut piece of carpet and placed it in his suit pocket.

A bad premonition rose within Tao Yu. "What are you planning to do?"

"Keep it." Yue Linze replied frankly.

Tao Yu was speechless, realizing she had underestimated the extent of his eccentricity.

"That's disgusting…" Knowing it was useless to argue, Tao Yu expressed her disgust and let him be.

She watched wearily as Yue Linze organized his documents and finally couldn't resist yawning.

Yue Linze wasn't accustomed to resting during work hours, so his office never had a lounge. Seeing Tao Yu's exhaustion, he offered to have the housekeeper send her back.
