The weekend ended, and roommates returned to the dorm. As soon as they were back, they noticed something odd about Feng Yi. He was no longer glued to his phone. It was as if the device had suddenly become scorching hot, his ears turning red with the slightest touch.

The strangest thing? He'd stare at his phone's lock screen, giggling like a fool one moment and sighing with a furrowed brow the next. Was that even a range of human emotions possible?

To their teasing, Feng Yi just shook his head, speechless.

Ah, this must be what falling in love felt like, bittersweet. Well, not bitter. How could liking Qiao Li ever be bitter?

This lovesick young man's thoughts could fill a thick diary. Looking at the sparse, dim stars in the night sky, guilt gnawed at him. He was deliberately distancing himself from Qiao Li because of his own shyness and embarrassment.

Would she be angry? Or would she be happy about his distance?

His heart was heavy with anxiety; he couldn't eat or sleep properly.

In truth, Qiao Li hadn't even noticed his attempts at distancing himself. She was in a crucial period of her career, focused on climbing the ladder. Work consumed her days, leaving her running non-stop. It wasn't until National Day, when Feng Yi suddenly appeared before her, that she realized she’d been neglecting him.

Feng Yi, too afraid to even contact her in case she was angry, had simply teleported to her doorstep.

Qiao Li opened the door. Feng Yi hesitated, not daring to step inside right away.

He anxiously scanned her face, searching for the slightest change in expression. She. Wasn't. Angry! The joy of this realization, like winning the lottery, made his head spin.

Fireworks were going off in broad daylight! Wait… weren’t those fireworks inside his own head? Hehehe.

Feng Yi rushed to Qiao Li, bent down, and hugged her, nuzzling his head against her shoulder, overwhelmed with emotion. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. You're so wonderful, so considerate, so understanding. You're not even mad at me. Why are you so good to me? What am I going to do?"

Huh?

She pushed his head away. "You…"

"No, don't say it. Let's just forget about it." One of the relationship tips he’d recently researched advised letting go of trivial disagreements rather than dwelling on them.

...Had she not woken up yet?

The matter was dropped just like that.

Feng Yi's recent turmoil of shame and shyness, joy and sensitivity, would remain a secret between him and the universe.

Today was National Day, and Qiao Li was definitely off work. Feng Yi had meticulously prepared himself, ready for a proper date.

He asked, "Do you have any plans today?" Qiao Li had intended to work on some files at home, but with Feng Yi here, she decided to postpone it. "No."

Feng Yi immediately broke into a bright, sunny smile and pulled out two tickets. "Then let's go to the amusement park!"

Qiao Li slowly raised an eyebrow. "Uh... are you sure you want to go?" She wasn't interested at all.

Feng Yi, ever agreeable, said, "As long as I'm with you, I'll go anywhere." He looked at her expectantly. "You like amusement parks, right?"

"I do," she lied, unable to dampen his enthusiasm.

"See? The internet was right. Women always have a little girl inside them."

Well, only one of them had a little girl inside. The question was, which one?

Qiao Li quickly put on makeup, styled her hair, and left. Upon arriving, she instantly regretted it. The park was overflowing with people; it was impossible to move. All their time would be wasted in lines.

Feng Yi noticed her discomfort and looked at her worriedly, afraid she was unhappy with his choice.
