Jiang Yi noticed three girls walking slowly about ten meters ahead. She exchanged a glance with Qin Feifei, and they reached a silent agreement. As they approached, one moved inwards, the other outwards, intending to pass them.

Suddenly, the unexpected happened. The girl on the outside, noticing Jiang Yi's approach, deliberately stepped outwards.

"Ah!"

Jiang Yi stopped abruptly. She hadn't even touched the girl, yet the girl fell down.

"Are you okay?" Jiang Yi reached out to help her up.

To her surprise, the girl glared at her. "Why did you push me?"

Jiang Yi paused, confused.

"I didn't push you," she explained calmly. "I stopped. I was still half a step away from you. I didn't even touch you."

The girl ignored her, crying out dramatically, "Ow, it hurts! I twisted my ankle! Why did you push me on purpose?!"

Her two friends immediately rushed to her side. One glared at Jiang Yi, shouting, "Why did you push her?!"

The other chimed in, "Yeah! The track is so wide, why did you have to push her?!"

Jiang Yi pieced together the events and realized what was happening.

Her expression hardened. "Did I offend you?"

Their commotion quickly attracted attention. The students behind them stopped and gathered around, while those ahead turned back.

The girl on the ground bit her lip, then quickly adopted a pained, innocent expression, tears streaming down her face, feigning concern. "It's okay, don't blame her. She probably didn't mean to push me. Ow, it hurts!"

So fake, Qin Feifei almost gagged.

Jiang Yi frowned. "I didn't push you."

The P.E. teacher arrived, having heard everything from afar. He looked at Jiang Yi, then at the girl on the ground.

The girl, tears in her eyes, said to the teacher, "Don't blame her, Teacher. She probably didn't push me on purpose. Ow, it hurts!"

Jiang Yi frowned. "I didn't push you."

The P.E. teacher's expression was complicated. "Someone help her to the infirmary."

The girl glanced towards Zhong Cheng.

Her friend immediately caught the hint and ran over to him. "Zhong Cheng, can you help Chen Yuxin to the infirmary?"

The kind-hearted P.E. representative quietly retracted his outstretched leg.

Zhong Cheng glanced at the girl on the ground and said coldly, "No."

The girl was taken aback. "Zhong Cheng, we're classmates. It's an emergency. Can you please help?"

Zhong Cheng looked at her. "An emergency? I don't see it."

"She twisted her ankle!"

Zhong Cheng's gaze shifted to the girl on the ground. "Did you really twist your ankle?"

Chen Yuxin looked wronged and innocent. "Zhong Cheng, what do you mean? Of course, I twisted my ankle…"

Zhong Cheng walked closer, looking down at her. His voice was clear and firm. "But I saw you fall down. A light, airy, and very dramatic fall. You didn't even put any effort into your acting. Not a single scrape on you, yet you're accusing someone of pushing you."

Chen Yuxin's expression froze, and she shrank back, still trying to salvage the situation. "How can you say that…"

"You think no one saw?" Zhong Cheng pointed to the other side of the field, where they had started and where the finish line was. "I was there. 20/20 vision. She didn't touch you."

Silence fell. The expressions of everyone around them changed.

The P.E. teacher's expression became even more complex. What he hadn't exposed had been revealed by another student. But perhaps it was for the best. He had wanted to spare the girl's face, but mishandling the situation could have wronged Jiang Yi. It was good that the truth was out. The girl had been dishonest and deserved the consequences.

Still, the scene was rather awkward. The boy's words were too blunt. He could have been more tactful.

The P.E. teacher dismissed the crowd and instructed the P.E. representative to carry the girl to the infirmary.

The charade continued. Mainly because the girl was still insisting she'd twisted her ankle, and he had to maintain some semblance of decorum.

Carried on the P.E. representative's back, Chen Yuxin fought back her humiliation. Looking back, her gaze pierced through the crowd and landed on Jiang Yi, filled with resentment.

Jiang Yi didn't notice her. She was staring at Zhong Cheng. He glanced at her briefly, then walked away with his classmates.

Qin Feifei fumed at the other two girls. "Jealousy is a disease, and they're clearly terminal. Not only are they ugly, but they're also scheming, fake, and two-faced!"

Jiang Yi remembered something and asked, "Is that what you meant earlier?"

Qin Feifei replied, "Yeah! They actually called you ugly!"

Jiang Yi was puzzled. "Why would they target me?"

Qin Feifei explained, "They see you as a rival! That Chen Yuxin probably likes your third brother. He paid a little extra attention to you, so she assumed he likes you and tried to smear your name."

Jiang Yi was bewildered. "She likes Zhong Cheng? And she thinks Zhong Cheng likes me?"

"Yep," Qin Feifei confirmed.

Jiang Yi thought of Zhong Cheng's cold eyes and gave a bitter laugh. "Impossible."

Qin Feifei nodded. "Exactly! But, do they know he's your third brother?"

Jiang Yi thought to herself, He probably never acknowledged me. A brother-sister relationship is impossible.
