The thought of being stuck next to Chen Yu for who knew how long prompted Feng Yiman to consider the benefits of being on good terms with him.

During class, she nudged his arm with her finger. He was engrossed in his phone.

He was probably at a crucial moment in his game, the worst time to be interrupted. Without even looking up, he grumbled, "What? I'm about to get a penta kill."

"Um... are you free on Saturday?"

In the end, Chen Yu didn't get his penta kill. The last kill was stolen by a teammate. Furious enough to smash his phone, he tossed it onto his desk. His tone was unfriendly. "What? Want to ask me out?"

She did want to ask him out, to buy him a new shirt. The one she'd stained was beyond saving, and it looked expensive. Not replacing it seemed wrong.

"Yeah, I want to ask you out," she replied, playing along with his flippant tone.

His expression changed instantly. His eyes raked over her, and he leaned in close, murmuring in her ear, "I'm free if you're asking me to go to a hotel."

His words sent a blush flooding her cheeks. Her back stiffened, and goosebumps erupted across her skin. This p3rvert was at it again.

She subtly shifted her chair to the edge of her desk, putting distance between them.

"The female student next to Chen Yu, answer this question for me." The physics teacher's voice snapped from the front of the room. He'd clearly seen their whispered exchange and sounded annoyed. They were already in their second year of high school; shouldn't they be focusing on their studies? Then again, sitting in the back row, what else was there to focus on?

Feng Yiman jumped, startled. She quickly stood, flipping through her textbook. She had no idea what the teacher was talking about. Thankfully, the student in front of her pointed to the correct problem.

She read the question silently and immediately knew the answer. "The answer is A, 50N."

The physics teacher, surprised she'd actually gotten it right, decided to push further. "Then tell me the answer to question ten."

Question ten was a more complex problem. After reading it once, she had a general idea of how to solve it. "Teacher, can I write it on the board?" Explaining it verbally would be too difficult.

"Hmm?" The teacher's interest was piqued. "Go ahead!"

The workbook was Chen Yu's. It was completely blank, cleaner than his face.

At the blackboard, she read the question again, then began to write, her handwriting neat and elegant, her problem-solving process clear and logical.

Before she'd even finished, the teacher's attitude had completely changed. When she was done, he asked, "What's your name? Are you new here?" Her face wasn't familiar.

"My name is Feng Yiman. I transferred yesterday," she replied, placing the chalk back on the ledge.

The teacher looked over her work, nodding in approval. "Excellent, excellent. Completely correct." He smiled and pointed at her. "Feng Yiman, the successor to John von Neumann! I'll remember you!"

Thanks to that one problem, she became an instant sensation. Within a few classes, practically the entire grade knew that Class 3 had a beautiful new transfer student who was also a genius.

They were already separated into science and liberal arts classes. Theirs was a science class, and physics was Feng Yiman's forte. She excelled in all subjects, though. Even in the sparsely offered liberal arts courses, she performed brilliantly. Her exceptional memory and ability to absorb information were astonishing.

She quickly became the favorite of all her teachers. Chen Yu watched her, rubbing his chin. "I didn't realize my classmate was such a brainiac."

She shot him a proud look, grinning. "No need to call me a brainiac. Just call me master!"

It was a joke she often used with admiring classmates at her old school. She considered Chen Yu a friend and thought the joke would be fine, especially since he was the first person she'd met here.

Chen Yu froze, then reached out and gripped the back of her neck, leaning in to whisper, "You want to find out how quickly I can make you call me master in bed?"
