Shen Ruoyu felt like a fool. Despite rushing to the Lu Estate the moment she received news of her brother's capture, she still couldn't save the poor boy. The brother she had carefully raised for over a decade ultimately died by that beast's sword, Shen Xinghuai collapsing into her arms, his face covered in blood. In his final moments, the boy clutched the hem of her dress.

"Sister," he whispered, his voice filled with regret, "I've troubled you all these years… I can't be with you anymore…" Holding his body close, she felt his warmth slowly fade, an immense grief threatening to consume her. But this time, numbness prevailed. Shen Ruoyu stared blankly at her brother's cooling corpse.

"Lu Zhixing," she raged, drawing her sword, "even now, you won't let my brother rest?!" Countless rebirths had transformed her from a helpless young lady. Her blade, now swift and merciless, pierced the man's heart in a single strike.

Lu Zhixing felt a sharp pang in his chest, but madness consumed him. Even knowing his end was near, he obsessively kissed Shen Xinghuai's pale lips. "Wonderful… Now we'll finally be together…" Shen Xinghuai was dead, and he had no desire to live alone. He could have dodged the blow, but he gave Shen Ruoyu the chance to kill him.

The sunlight felt harsh. Blood trickled from the corner of Lu Zhixing's mouth. As life ebbed away, he narrowed his eyes. "Will anyone love me in the next life?" His final gaze fell upon Shen Xinghuai, his expression a mixture of infatuation and possessiveness. The sight filled Shen Ruoyu with revulsion. Lu Zhixing had gone to such lengths to possess her brother. Her brother hadn't loved him, and in his obsession, he'd taken his life. Despite all her efforts, she had failed to protect him in this life too.

As Lu Zhixing collapsed, lifeless, Shen Ruoyu felt her own consciousness fading. When she opened her eyes again, the scene had shifted. The heavy scent of blood was replaced by a familiar, fragrant incense. The transformation was so swift, the horrific scene felt like a dream. But she knew it was real. Shen Ruoyu was the villainous female supporting character in a book, but unlike others, she had gained self-awareness.

She had spent her early life wreaking havoc, her greatest pleasure tormenting her neglected brother, Shen Xinghuai. Daily, she would inflict physical punishments or subject him to cruel treatment. She never felt remorse, until one night, she dreamt of her relentless abuse. In the dream, Shen Xinghuai, the scorned "curse," grew into a celebrated war hero, defending their borders. Upon his rise to power, he didn't spare his cruel sister, drowning her one moonlit night.

"Help me! Save me!" The dream felt so real, she awoke with a tightness in her chest, gasping for breath. After that, she experienced a series of fragmented dreams of events that had never occurred. Then, through a twist of fate, her awareness awakened. She realized she was merely a side character in a tragic BL novel. Her inexplicable hatred for her brother was nothing more than the influence of the "plot."

Upon learning the truth, she vowed to treat her brother well and change her fate. From that day forward, she transformed, showering him with kindness and support. Just when she thought she had averted the tragic events of her dream, having witnessed his rise to success, she awoke once more to her seventeenth year. Her fate was tied to her brother, the protagonist. He was destined to die at eighteen at the hands of a corrupted Lu Zhixing. And with his death, she would be reborn. She had lost count of how many times this cycle had repeated.

"Damn it, whoever wants this brother can have him!"

Countless rebirths, countless plans, and still, she couldn't save him. She had even tried killing Lu Zhixing, only to find Shen Xinghuai still met an untimely end. He was always doomed, never living past twenty. This time, Shen Ruoyu was exhausted. She didn't have the energy anymore. She would let him fend for himself.
