Ever since his leg had been injured, Yue Linze hadn't left the house.  His days were a monotonous cycle of reading and watching the news, a truly dull existence.  But ever since that rehabilitation therapist, Tao Yu, had moved in, he'd found a new source of amusement—observing just how spectacularly stupid a human being could be.

After staring at the screen for seven or eight hours, he switched off the television with an impassive face, deciding that the woman's so-called promises were nothing but a farce. After all, someone who could choke on their own toothpaste wouldn't survive a few days even if he didn't personally tie her up and feed her to the sharks.

It would be best to throw her out first thing tomorrow morning. Yue Linze thought coldly.

And so, Tao Yu slept peacefully in the Yue family mansion. The next morning, she woke up early and began her preparations. To avoid antagonizing Yue Linze, she deliberately chose not to wear her white coat, opting instead for a pale blue, fluffy sweater paired with jeans and sneakers.

Once everything was ready, she looked at her clean face in the mirror, blinked, and smiled genuinely at her own beauty. She had to admit, the reason she'd been chosen as an assistant to the top psychologist was because of this harmless face. The doctor believed she could quickly gain patients' trust, which was why she'd been given so much responsibility.

Unfortunately, she hadn't lived up to the expectation. Despite handling so many classic cases, she hadn't become a top psychologist herself. Now, faced with a slight challenge, she felt completely stumped. The thought of facing that difficult patient outside made her expression sour.

Thus, from his bedroom, Yue Linze watched her face cycle through a range of expressions in the mirror before she suddenly started making faces. When her nostrils filled the screen in an extreme close-up, Yue Linze pressed the remote control, unable to endure it any longer.

The housekeeper glanced at him cautiously and said in a low voice, "Sir, should I ask Dr. Tao to leave now?"

He'd felt a pang of regret when Yue Linze had called him about the arrangement yesterday, but now he felt his employer's decision was correct.  This Dr. Tao really didn't seem quite right in the head.

"No, let her stay," Yue Linze said coldly.

"Sir?" The housekeeper looked at him, puzzled, unsure why he'd changed his mind. But upon receiving a firm look, he immediately nodded and replied, "Yes... Then, sir, are you going to the rehabilitation room?"

"Yes." How else would he find a reason to add to the sharks' meal?  The ones he kept hadn't tasted human flesh yet.

The housekeeper nodded, about to say something, when the communicator in his pocket beeped.  He offered Yue Linze an apologetic smile and, after receiving permission, opened the message.  His face fell.

"What is it?" Yue Linze asked, looking up.

The housekeeper hesitated. "Miss Zhou is here. What would you like to do, sir?"

A flicker of coldness crossed Yue Linze's eyes. "See her."

"Yes, sir." The housekeeper immediately brought the wheelchair over. Yue Linze glanced at it, confirming it wasn't the one those dirty hands had touched yesterday, before sitting down with a cold expression.

Tao Yu had gone to the rehabilitation room early and waited, but no one came. Could he have changed his mind?  She walked anxiously towards the door.

Not far from the rehabilitation room, she heard a woman's gentle voice downstairs. "Linze, you understand me, don't you? If it weren't for… I'd really want to marry you. But my mother threatened to kill herself. I really can't ignore her wishes."

Oh, a melodrama? Tao Yu's interest was piqued. She quietly moved closer.

"Housekeeper, show her out," Yue Linze's indifferent voice rang out.

"Wait! I haven't finished," the woman said, looking at him tearfully. From Tao Yu's perspective, she was a picture of a pitiful, beautiful young woman. "Although I'm going to be engaged to Linying, there will always be a place for you in my heart. If one day…"

She suddenly choked up, unable to continue, and lowered her head, sobbing softly.

A flash of disgust crossed Yue Linze's eyes.  He said indifferently, "Miss Zhou, you seem to be mistaken. We're not close. Why are you telling me all this?"

"Linze," Zhou Yanran looked at him reproachfully, "I know you have feelings for me. You're just like this because of your leg. But you should know, no matter what you say, you'll always be irreplaceable in my heart."

She had been deeply infatuated with him ever since she'd seen him at a Yue family banquet. Back then, he was a golden boy, someone high above the clouds, while she was just the daughter of a nouveau riche. Although she had shamelessly pursued him, she had always been insecure.

But now, things were different. He had fallen from grace, and her father had bought her an engagement with Yue Linying, the eldest son of the Yue family. Their positions had reversed in an instant, and she finally had the courage to confess her feelings.

Yue Linze glanced at his blanket-covered leg and looked calmly at Zhou Yanran. "Who do you think you are?" His voice was calm, yet laced with arrogance, as if he could instantly strip her bare.
